LUFT: Wish I had enough cash to buy this sign. It reads "Air" in Swedish. Up for auction at a Swedish auction house. Will be sold for around $ 500. A lot for air, i suppose.
SIGN PAINTERS (OFFICIAL TRAILER) from samuel j macon on Vimeo.

SIGN PAINTERS: Film maker Faythe Levine and Sam Macon made a film about one of the finest arts there is. Enjoy the trailer and also check out the book that profiles sign painters. I remember how impressed I was by Colossals work when I stayed in New York for a month a couple of years back. Now I get a chance to know more about them behind the murals.

SPRING BREAK: Here is the poster I just finished for Whole Lotta Spring Break. Great bands featured like Nobunny and Bad Sports. Visit Stockholm the 12th and 13th of April is my recommendation. More info on www.pushmybuttons.se

To make the poster pop out a little extra we use the same papers as the groceries advertising bargins. The poster comes in different colors depending on the paper it's printed on.

STUDIO III: Animationresources.org has a nice article about Milton Caniff. One of the pioneers of the comic strip. As the article says "He has been referred to as "The Rembrandt of the Comic Strip", and oft by himself as "an Armchair Marco Polo"". Check it out, a lot of original illustrations featured as well!

LUCKY BIRD: Working on a poster that will be inspired by this charming caracter. Ever since I was a kid I loved this gizmo. A thirsty fellow that uses the different temperatures of fluids to bow his head. Cheers!

VINO VINO: The opening night at Talent Gallery was great! Amazingly fun to talk to, drink with and hug everyone that came. The story about "The Escape of Neil Kazansky" is up on the walls until the 14th of February. After that it will be spread by the wind. An extra thank you goes out to Erik, Thomas, Jakob, Sara and my wife and family for helping out with everything from prints to general support.

WORK SPACE: Stop by at Talent Gallery on the 31:st. From 5 pm to 8 pm there will be some kind of opening. A glass of wine, music, friends... oh, and some drawings. I haven't got my work space ready in the new house yet but it will do for now.

JET AGE: Love everything about this old ad. Wish I made it. Unfortunately I didn't even have that kind of Pretzel baking house as a kid.

WORK SPACE: First you have the Alexander Calder crib, then Niki de Saint Phalle's place followed by Basquiats hang out.

DRIP DROP: November is here and all I can think of is umbrellas, climate change and friends in NYC. Need to buy my self one handy roof that fits in my pocket.

SAVE THE DATE: On the 31:st of January I will exhibit at Talent Gallery, Kocksgatan 23, Stockholm. Working on new material for this one.

HONOLULU: Just finished this illustration for a new TV show. Honolulu TV is in the making and I'll get back to you as soon as I have a link to the first show. Until then; dance as if your in Hawaii!

TELEVISION: Working on a illustration for a new music TV show called Honolulu. Stubbled across this old ad. Not sure I agree with the message.

ANDALUCIA: Just heard from a friend of mine that him and his wife are moving to Andalucia this winter. They'll escape the Swedish winter and write, read, paint and draw for months. Makes me think of another decent artist from the same place in Spain.

CRYSTAL BALL: Just found this framed illustration. Nice.

STUDIO: An artist work space can be as interesting as his or her art. Above you'll find the Jackson Pollock studio in New York and the Cezanne studio in France. I find great inspirations looking at photos like these.

MAGIC TWIN: Working on a print ad and trying to find inspiration in old Mandrake albums. The character was created by Lee Falk in 1934 and I was first exposed of his magic powers back in the mid eighties. Read that they are planing a big screen comeback for this well dressed gentleman.

SOAP: Looking good soap package. For you.
A MAN'S MAN: If I'd look like this I would feel like a zillion bucks. A bit torn by the edges, sure, but what a charming hair cut.

SUMMER RAIN: A now yearly tradition - doing art work for this event - that is. I can't make it myself this year but what's stopping you? A minor fleet of great bands are playing as well as great people hanging out on deck. Also; you'll probably catch a part of the design on tee's if you'll make it. Happy midsummer to you all and be sure to watch out for bottles falling!

NORWEGIAN WRESTLING: Poster for the 67:th Gear Club night. Norwegian band Los Plantronics have a lot of mexican influences and the mission was to make these too ends meet. The same night Sexpistolstanten & Mockfjärdsvapnet also gave the Stockholm hipster scene what they need the most right now: hits like "Enda dan hittills jag inte velat dö".
WHISH LIST: Stumbled across these gems on an auction site. Anyone got a lot of money to spare? Just look at those fantastic details. Wow!

TOMORROW: If you wonder how tomorrow will look, look no further. It's not the first time that I wish I was born back around 1920.

HEART + KNIFE: Equals a night at Debaser Slussen with US act Lover! suported by Bäddat för Trubbel and RAS. Don't miss this event, and remember, it's free if you pass the door man befour ten o clock.

PUSH MY BUTTONS: Illustration for the long awaited opening of the Push my Buttons online store. With two strong characters like Lotta and Thomas running the place it felt impossible to not make them holding the sign like a siamese twin. Enough talking, of you go, next stop on your shopping tour must be: pushmybuttons.se
